James A. Landon
James graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1996, after receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Cum Laude, from the University of Arizona in 1993. He has written a best-selling book regarding landlord and tenant law, The Weekend Landlord, first published by Sourcebooks in 2004, with a 2nd edition in 2006.
James has successfully handled thousands of landlord and tenant related cases, in addition to a decade plus of experience with commercial and consumer collections, real estate, entity formation, and other general civil legal matters.
Always relishing the art of public speaking, James made his first television and radio appearances at the age of ten(10), as a student advocate for the Austin, Texas Independent School District.
James has always actively participated in athletics, placing 2nd in a regional punt, pass, and kick competition at the age of nine(9), and going on to be a nationally ranked junior tennis player. More recently, he won a state racquetball title in the “D” division in his first tournament, and is a seven handicap golfer.
Eric J. Thomae
Eric J. Thomae attended the University of Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. A native of Iowa, he earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Drake University in Des Moines. While in law school Eric earned a legislative practice certificate, studying legislative and administrative rule-making procedures as an intern at the state capitol and with a legislative lobbying firm. Eric was also a legal clerk with the Pima County Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Division.
Prior to attending law school Eric spent ten years as a radio broadcaster in Iowa and Arizona, hosting talk shows and providing play-by-play and color commentary for the Arizona Wildcats, Tucson Sidewinders, and others. Eric is currently the on-site broadcast engineer for IMG Sports and the Arizona Wildcats.
Eric’s practice focuses on business law, creditor’s rights, landlord-tenant and probate law.
Dean Sipe
- Born: Sterling, Illinois.
- Education: Monmouth College (B.A. with honors, 1974); University of Arizona (J.D., 1977).
- Professional Milestones: Admitted to the bar, 1977; Judge ProTem, 1996.
- Practice Areas: Commercial law, construction law, bankruptcy law, and collections.
- Professional Associations: American Bar Association, Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA).

Staff
Heidi Landon- Office Manager
Ms. Landon is a 2001 graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. She started her career in public accounting where she developed a broad range of skills having spent time specializing in both tax preparation and accounting/auditing.
She now puts those skills to good use as office manager of Sipe and Landon. Her duties encompass a wide range of activities in the office from general bookkeeping and trust accounting to managing the flow of work in the office and coordinating technology.
Patricia A. Flores
Attended Suffolk College in Stony Brook, New York and continued her college education while serving in the United States military by attending New Mexico State University. Upon her discharge from the military in 1981, she began a career with the legal and law enforcement community in Tucson, Arizona. In 2005, Patricia received certification as a fiduciary from the Arizona Supreme Court. and maintains that certification through on-going and continued education.
Patricia has been with the law firm of Sipe & Landon since 2000 and is primarily responsible for firm-debtor communications. Patricia regularly continues her education in the areas of collections law as well as professional development.
April McMahon
April McMahon is a graduate from Chaparral College with an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies. Ms. McMahon has over 11 years experience in the legal field and has been with Sipe and Landon since 2000. Ms. McMahon’s areas of expertise include personal injury, civil litigation, collections, corporate law, estates, probate and domestic law. She assists the attorneys administratively in the preparation of court and legal documents, corresponding with clients, calendaring, and file maintenance.
